Overview
Production Planner Team Lead – Huntsman, Advanced Materials Division, McIntosh, Alabama. Reports to the Regional Supply Manager. Job Scope: Lead effective and efficient site materials management including site Materials Planning, Scheduling, and transactional components of Logistics Operations. Maintain production schedules to optimize inventory levels that meet customer requirements and minimize inventory carrying costs, in accordance with plans generated through the IBP Demand/Supply Planning processes. Maintain SAP information to optimize schedule and planning and work closely with plant, corporate personnel, and the distribution network to deliver optimum service and minimal costs. Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of materials planning Maintain SAP information to optimize schedule and planning Work closely with operations management to ensure adherence to plan and coordinate changes as needed Balance production and supply chain costs when executing plans Requisition raw materials according to the plan and interact with Purchasing Control raw material and intermediate inventories at optimum levels Support Product Managers and Production teams in efforts to reduce slow moving and off-standard inventories Participate in IBP processes Manage blocked inventory for rework or write-off Maintain master data in SAP Coordinate with Schedulers to achieve department goals Prepare production schedules to meet appropriate inventory levels that maximize customer service Balance demand requirements with production capabilities Monitor adherence to schedule and manage changes Maintain accuracy in SAP Control raw material and intermediate inventories at optimum levels Coordinate with plant Logistics organization to achieve primary goals Maintain finished goods and raw material inventories to ensure proper storage, transfer, and compliance with regulatory, EH&S, and departmental procedures Maintain accuracy in SAP transactions Maintain inventory data with Production Ensure shipping from McIntosh to distribution centers and customers is timely and efficient Champion continuous improvement in planning and scheduling processes, including managing special projects Other general responsibilities
Follow instructions and perform other duties as assigned by Regional Supply Chain Manager Know McIntosh processes, products and businesses Assist other employees in Huntsman company goals Understanding of MRP, proficiency in SAP and MS Office Participate in and complete company-required training programs Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives as set forth by the company Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or Logistics Management with 5+ years of specific experience Associate’s degree in general management with 10+ years of related experience Associate’s degree may be substituted with equivalent years of Operating Experience Skills and knowledge
Specific Skills and Knowledge APICs CPIM certification desired High proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills Solid understanding of safety and environmental requirements Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
