Proficiently and safely diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on mobile heavy equipment and trucks with moderate supervision.

Essential Functions

Inspect mobile heavy equipment, pinpoint operating deficiencies and excessive machine and/or component wear.

Using hand wrenches, hammers, impact tools, torque wrenches, grinders, screw drivers, measuring devices, overhead hoists, cranes, slings, chains, electrical testing tools, hydraulic testing tools, micrometers, gauges, and a variety of other hand tools, routinely dismantle, rebuild, adjust and repair primary systems—drive train, hydraulic, fuel, air, brake, pneumatic, electrical, steering, suspension, exhaust—on mobile heavy equipment and highway‑legal trucks and trailers.

Provide shop foreman time estimates and inventory of parts or special tools required to complete assigned projects.

Using an established checklist, prove all repairs and workmanship were properly completed and the item is fully operational, prepared to mobilize for productive work.

Complete and submit accurate work orders.

Perform minor fabrication, alter and repair equipment using MIG, TIG, and oxygen/acetylene welding and cutting equipment. Operate forklifts, trucks, and heavy equipment as required.
