About Us Aptiva Health is a multi-specialty medical group with multiple locations in the Kentucky area. We specialize in acute injury, yet we offer a wide variety of skilled therapy services, including women’s pelvic health, dry needling, sports and concussion management, exercise prescription, movement pattern dysfunction, injury prevention and general wellness. Aptiva is currently expanding and we are seeking a passionate and skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in our sports medicine program, providing comprehensive care to athletes both within our clinic and on the field. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of athletes, from recreational to professional, and contribute to their overall health and performance. The role will involve a hybrid position working alongside our Neuropsychologist who specializes in post‑concussion care, as well as providing on‑field and in‑house athletic training services to partnering schools in the community. ATC Skills And Qualifications The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for injury prevention, care and treatment of athletes and will assist the physical therapy and medical staff in caring for our outpatient/orthopedic patient care needs. The Athletic Trainer will work both in an office setting (within our clinics) and will be expected to assist with athletic events outside of the facility as well. The Athletic Trainer will also assist in providing therapeutic exercise prescription and injury prevention strategies to both injured and non‑injured athletes.
Communication skills are a MUST to communicate with coaches, athletes, parents and physicians.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in athletic training or related field.
Current Athletic Trainer certification.
State licensure in Athletic Training.
CPR/AED certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred prior experience or education in Psychology.
ATC Job Duties Clinical Duties
Conduct initial assessments of athletes’ injuries and conditions in our sport & concussion clinic.
Develop and implement tailored rehabilitation and concussion game‑plan programs.
Provide therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy and exercise prescription.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
On‑Field Responsibilities
Attend practices, games, and events as required to provide on‑site medical support.
Conduct pre‑participation evaluations and injury prevention programs.
Respond promptly to on‑field injuries, assess, and provide immediate care.
Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, and other medical staff.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments and treatment plans.
Provide timely reports on athlete progress to internal staff and external stakeholders.
