Job Description - Certified Surgical Tech PRN (7412-7184)
Starr Surgery Center of Athens is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech PRN for the Surgery Center Department.
Job Responsibilities
Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
Prepares the surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
Passes instruments to the physician during surgery and continually accounts for the number and location of instruments and supplies.
Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

Qualifications
Minimum Education: Must meet one of the following:
Hold current national certification established by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); or
Completed a program for surgical technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); or
Completed an appropriate training program for surgical technologists in the Armed Forces or at a CAAHEP-accredited hospital or ambulatory surgical treatment center; or
Successfully pass the NBSTSA certifying exam for surgical technologists.
Required Licenses: Certified Surgical Technologist in Tennessee, United States.
Required Skills Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) at the time of hire.
