Educate patients regarding medications used in the treatment setting and their side effects. Administer/dispense medications (e.g., Methadone, Suboxone) in accordance with State and Federal regulations and DEA guidelines. Conduct urine drug screens when needed. Perform assessments for new intakes, quarterly reviews, annual reviews, AWOL situations, and potential impairments. Ensure proper documentation of administration/dispensing transactions and adherence to treatment plans. Follow the treatment plan of the physician and/or medical director. Place, interpret, and document Mantoux tests for patients and teammates. Assess patient response to treatment and medication dosage/interactions and determine dosing appropriateness. Respond to emergencies per license and provide appropriate care. Counsel patients regarding personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and treatment changes. Maintain nursing progress notes and medical records as required, including daily medication charts and physician orders. Participate in case conferences and contribute professional observations. Order medical supplies and maintain inventory per regulations. Coordinate appointments with physicians; obtain lab workups and remind patients to keep appointments. Conduct medication call backs for take-home medications. Discuss important changes in patients or patterns of behavior affecting treatment with physicians and the team. Provide referrals for specialized care and follow up on attendance and treatment. Assist in organizing transfers of patients to and from the program and verify medication with other programs as needed. Recognize and manage opiate overdoses and understand testing procedures (urine screens, toxicology, etc.). Attend team meetings and complete required training courses timely. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse licensed and in good standing in the State of Georgia. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge and experience with infection control, quality assurance, and patient care compliance for state licensure. CPR and BLS certifications required. Experience with triaging in emergency situations and medical emergencies. Maintain continuing education credits as required by the Georgia Board of Licensure and organizational needs. One year of experience or knowledge in the field of drug abuse is recommended. Meet minimum Competency Standards as set forth in the Competencies for Nurses. Preferred

Two years of experience with chemical addiction and/or mental disorders, including psychopharmacotherapy. Benefits
