About the Role As a Therapist at Dallas Behavioral Health, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals and families through various mental health challenges by providing compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Your work will focus on assessing clients' psychological needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group therapy sessions to promote emotional well-being and resilience. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of support for clients experiencing crisis, life transitions, or behavioral health issues. This role demands a commitment to fostering a safe, empathetic environment where clients feel heard and empowered to make positive changes. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to improving the overall mental health outcomes and quality of life for the diverse population served by Dallas Behavioral Health.
Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field. Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling, including individual and group therapy. Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and behavioral health principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a behavioral health or community mental health setting. Training or certification in specialized therapeutic modalities such as family therapy or anger management. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation standards. Bilingual abilities or experience serving diverse cultural populations. Continuing education in emerging mental health topics and evidence-based interventions.
Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychological assessments to identify client needs and appropriate therapeutic approaches. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating counseling psychology and psychotherapy techniques. Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions addressing issues such as anger management, crisis intervention, and life transitions. Provide crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or emotional distress. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, case managers, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care.
