We are seeking a Board Certified Pathologist to serve as the Senior Medical Director of our well-established, hospital-employed general pathology practice. Cytopathology fellowship is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position within a 3-pathologist practice, with call coverage of 1:3. Leadership experience is preferred. Practice Location

CAP accredited Office Hours/Work Schedule
8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday; every third Saturday Call Schedule/CERP
1:3 call, approximately 17 weeks/year, 24-hour call during your on-week. Most calls are handled over the phone, averaging 1-2 calls per night, mainly for blood bank or critical value purposes. Rarely required to return to the hospital, but must be located within 20 minutes of the hospital for cases from the OR. Staffing and Case Load
Approximately 9,500-10,000 surgical cases annually Approximately 1,000-1,500 non-GYN Cytology cases annually Approximately 7,000 GYN cases annually Heavy case volume in Breast, Lung, and GI Equipment and Participation
Meditech and Dragon Medical One Participation in weekly tumor board meetings Qualifications and Skills
Must maintain satisfactory turnaround times, work well with team and staff, and lead the department in CAP accreditation surveys. Ability to integrate into SOMC culture is essential. Additional Requirements
