Job Description Revelyst is on the search for a strategic Category Director to manage the connected devices portfolio. The role focuses on developing, building out, and executing strategies to boost sales and profitability in the connected devices category. This includes items such as connected image capture devices, wearables, smart home devices, and related accessories. The Category Director will oversee the entire product lifecycle for this category, from market analysis and product selection to pricing, promotion, product lifecycle and managing supplier relationships. This position reports to the VP, Bushnell, and is based out of our Bozeman office.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a complete category strategy aligned with business objectives and market trends.

Analyze trends, consumer needs, competitors and growth opportunities; be the category expert.

Optimize product selection based on market demand, consumer preferences, and profitability.

Develop and manage pricing strategies to balance competitiveness and profitability.

Build and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate terms and ensure product quality.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on category plans.

Track category performance using KPIs, identify improvement areas, and report to management.

Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and technologies relevant to connected devices.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree.

7-10 years’ experience as a Category Director / Manager or similar role, preferably in consumer electronics and/or CPG.

Deep understanding of app monetization models (in‑app purchases, advertising, subscriptions, freemium, partnerships).

Strong ability to analyze KPIs such as ARPU, LTV, Retention Rate, and Conversion Rate to optimize monetization strategies.

Experience developing long‑term strategies to drive sales and profitability within the app category.

Market research and user behavior analysis expertise.

Familiarity with data analytics platforms, inventory management systems, and ad‑tech tools.

Effective communication of findings to product, marketing, sales teams and monetization partners.

Ability to foster strong relationships with monetization partners and navigate challenges related to ad quality, user experience, data privacy, and evolving market trends.

Understanding of business model, costs, and financial implications of monetization decisions.

Leadership in motivating cross‑functional teams to implement monetization strategies and achieve category goals.

Pay Range Annual Salary: $145,000.00 - $160,000.00 (variable based on experience, location, education, and skills).
