Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants on patient care management, organization, and communication. Exercise professional judgment to provide health care services, including x-ray to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups. Job Description
The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants to perform examinations and radiologic procedures. This role applies prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, performs and analyzes patient x-rays, and reports results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. The RT collaborates with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients to support patient care management, organization and communication. Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required High School Diploma or equivalent required Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire ARRT registration required Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required Essential Functions
Responsible for x-ray services as needed Perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups Ensure correct patient positioning and protection during use Assist with patient mobility as needed Patient Preparation and Rooming
Inform technical staff of patient flow Prepare patients for examination, conduct interviews to verify information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit Perform preliminary physical checks (vital signs) and escalate critical cases to provider as needed Conduct point of care testing as needed and provide patient information to provider Administrative
Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files Conduct courtesy follow-up calls for patient care Follow operating instructions to perform daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot and submit repair tickets as needed Other Responsibilities Include
Medical Team Support: Collaborate with Providers to determine best procedures and views for accurate diagnoses Patient Care: Explain procedures, ensure comfort and safety, answer questions Patient Positioning: Position patients and equipment for optimal imaging Image Production: Adjust radiographic controls to capture high-quality images Equipment Maintenance: Routine maintenance and supply management Radiation Safety: Adhere to ALARA principles to minimize exposure Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and log procedures Image Management: Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of X-ray procedures and anatomy/physiology relevant to imaging Knowledge of radiology equipment and safety hazards Ability to position patients properly Identify and report equipment problems; follow infection control and safety procedures Applicants must meet certain criteria to qualify for the Sign On Bonus.
