A Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for managing various production activities including but not limited to: planning, directing and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, department production targets and quality standards. Understand and align plant operations & production as they execute their role in the overall order fulfillment process to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial, and operational objectives. Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions. Supervise and facilitate the day-to-day shift activities of the team; provide training to team members and oversee individual performance. Oversee scheduling, material handling issues and maintenance, and resolve production problems. Manage people actions such as performance management, rewards, training and development of employees. Work with employees to maintain a safe work environment; encourage and lead team members to work safely and seek improvement in work practices. Supervise entry-level and semi-skilled hourly union employees (production and craft workers). Ensure product quality, production efficiency, and overall productivity meet or exceed established standards. Strive to be technically proficient on department machinery and use judgement to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems. Support and participate in GPI Lean, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes. Understand customer requirements and deliver results to meet or exceed expectations. Stop any process that does not meet employee safety requirements or customer quality requirements. Review and submit training documentation to the department manager for review and approval. Collaborate with other production supervisors to ensure daily pay period completion of all timecards and obtain pre-approval prior to submission to payroll. Assist in interviewing processes as requested and perform other duties as assigned. Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures related to production of Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Report unsafe conditions or SQF noncompliance to a person of authority and participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions as required. Schedule Demands

General Production Supervisor schedules consist of 12-hour rotating shifts; generally includes every other weekend off, but may require alternate schedules occasionally (early mornings, nights, weekends) and punctuality. Schedule rotation is 2-2-3. Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or related work experience required; degree may be substituted by equivalent experience 3-5 years of manufacturing experience required Experience in a front-line leadership position required Union experience preferred but not required Skills
