Satellite Shelters, Inc., a leader in the mobile modular industry, is looking for a highly organized and safety‑oriented Yard Technician to join our team in the Orlando, FL branch. Experience in construction or the mobile office industry is preferred. The branch is scheduled to move to a new location in Apopka in early 2026.
Position Summary This position is responsible for the construction and repair of units in compliance with Satellite Shelter’s policies and procedures and in accordance with specifications set by the Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Yard organization and cleanliness
Mobile office material inventory management
Organize, maintain, load & unload furniture (Satellite Specialty Products)
Remove and replace lighting, plumbing and electrical
Perform moderate carpentry work/repair
Interface with customers at job sites
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities No formal supervisory role.
Required Skills
Must be a self‑starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative
Problem‑solver
Utility trailer experience
Moderate carpentry and electrical experience
Organized
HVAC experience preferred but not required
Physical/Mental Demands
Wears personal protective equipment as required
Can perform rigorous outside and indoor tasks including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, and manual dexterity
Can lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Good fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion, and grip strength
Can work in all climate conditions
Can be exposed to loud noise levels
Can operate hand and power tools
Can work in an environment containing dirt, grease, and dust
Can work safely around heavy machinery and equipment
Can hold air impact tools up to 30 lb.
Compensation The base pay range is the amount Satellite Shelters, Inc. reasonably expects to offer for this position, though total compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, location, and client requirements.
