R-92437Waste Connections is looking for a **Heavy Equipment/Yellow Iron Mechanic** to join the team at our location in St Cloud, FL.6:30am to 5:00pm Monday though Friday and Saturday as needed.**$30.00 plus an hour DOE****DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.* Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.* Several pieces of yellow iron currently on site. (Compactors, Dozers, Excavators, Motor grader, Water truck and Articulated Dump Truck)* Ability to efficiently operate bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor grader, scraper. Compactor experience *preferred*, but not required.* Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.**WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:*** Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.* Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.* Ability to operate heavy equipment is desired.* Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.**MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS**:* High school diploma or equivalent.* Ability to read, writes, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.* Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (both diesel and yellow iron experience).* CDL is preferred but not required at time of hire.* VETERAN are encourage to apply. **WHAT WE OFFER****:*** Excellent benefits including: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, long term disability, life insurance, 401K retirement and unlimited opportunities to "Connect with Your Future".* Garbage is very stable and we work year round!* VETERANS are encouraged to apply.If you have questions or need help with your application feel free to call the **Pete Carreon at 832-510-5681.**Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
