Licensed Veterinary Technician Adobe Animal Hospital is actively looking for a

Licensed Veterinary Technician

to join our amazing team. We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and service-oriented Licensed Veterinary Technician who is confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and running bloodwork, has experience with x-rays and proper positioning, understands the importance of client education, and is a supportive and positive team player. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and growing, and Adobe Animal Hospital encourages its staff to do the same.

Salary:

$17 - 20 per hour

Schedule:

Part-time and full-time opportunities available. Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 6 pm, Opening on Saturdays soon! Closed on Sunday and major holidays.

Who You Are

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

in Texas, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire

2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant

Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Knowledge of industry tools and equipment

Passion for working with animals and their owners

Experience with proper animal handling and restraint

Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare

Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Exam room skills include obtaining accurate histories, obtaining vitals, brief exams, client education and financial conversations

Dental Experience, including charting, scaling, polishing, dental radiology

Skilled in IV Catheter placement, venipuncture, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints

Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique, pre-operative and post-operative care

Laboratory skills including in-house lab equipment, ear and skin cytology set-up and interpretation

Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis

And all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
