Hiring Range
$17.00 – $20.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Philpot laboratory develops therapeutics for single‑gene disorders. The Research Technician will perform mouse behavioral experiments, manage mouse colony organization and breeding, conduct histological assays (e.g., immunocytochemistry), operate confocal microscopy, collect and process tissues (dissections, sectioning, etc.), and perform data analysis. Responsibilities include animal handling and general lab management duties.
Required Qualifications Rodent handling abilities; basic understanding of neuroscience.
Preferred Qualifications Prior laboratory experience in related fields—rodent behavior, microscopy, immunohistochemistry, genotyping.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Physical/Mental Requirements Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours per day.
Must be able to move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to climb a step ladder.
