Summary Works closely with the clinical organizations as liaison between clinical users and information systems departments, serving as primary Clinical Information IT resource in documentation, implementation, design, build, support, training and maintenance of ANMC clinical applications/Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Responsibilities

Assist with recommendations related to IT systems to enhance revenue and improve reporting compliance.

Participate in software selection for clinical users, including identification of functional requirements.

Coordinate between clinicians and vendors to ensure continuous software improvements and development to meet the needs of clinical care providers.

Provide support and assistance with development of clinical and information management process improvement initiatives.

Assist with coordination for change management and communication related to EHR, IT projects and initiatives.

Identify changes in workflow processes that will need to be made with system changes or ongoing process improvement.

Assist customers to identify and resolve problems with clinical applications/EHR; follow through to ensure final resolution and recommend longer‑term solutions.

Provide consultative services to customers and application and development teams regarding workflow processes and technological solutions.

Facilitate communication to keep stakeholders informed of project status.

Assist in testing new system applications, upgrades and changes.

Utilize HIT department requirements regarding ITIL principles and processes.

Provide 24/7 support and call rotation coverage for end users.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Information

Knowledge of TJC, HIPAA, CMS and other regulatory requirements.

Knowledge of patient care activities, hospital and outpatient environments and how services and functions interact.

Knowledge of clinical information systems development and/or implementation.

Knowledge of new trends in clinical practice & information systems, & skill applying that knowledge.

Knowledge of and training in Electronic Health Records.

Skill in managing multiple projects at the same time.

Skill in maintaining confidential information.

Minimum Education Qualification A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy or another clinical field. Clinical practice work experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for college education.

Minimum Experience Qualification Non‑supervisory – Five (5) years of professional clinical practice, including a minimum of two (2) years of application support in a hospital or clinic setting. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

Minimum Licensure Qualification Current professional clinical licensure required.

Preferred Education Qualification Master’s degree in Medical Informatics desired.

Additional Requirements

May be called out to work off‑shift in emergency situations.

Some incumbents may be required to obtain specific technical certifications, depending on organizational needs.
