GoArmy Enlist as a Soldier

into the

United States Army

and as an Optical Laboratory Specialist (68Y), you'll gain the specialized training needed to make and repair the eyewear that is provided to Soldiers in the Army. You'll use your knowledge of optics and ocular health to sort and forward prescriptions, prepare and make prescription lenses, inspect them for accuracy, assemble frames, and perform repairs and maintenance on optical tools and machines. This is not a civilian contractor position.

Requirements

No experience necessary. Position is entry level.

A U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid Green Card. 17 to 34 Years Old. High School Diploma or GED. Meet Tattoo Guidelines. No Major Law Violations. No Medical Concerns.

Testing & Certifications

3 Nationally Recognized Certifications Available. 10 weeks of Basic Training. 24 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. 98 ASVAB Score: General Maintenance (GM).
