Job Summary Install, maintain, and repair complex electrical and electronic production equipment and facility electrical systems in accordance with company objectives, production requirements, and the State of Oregon electrical codes. Work any one of three shifts in operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Install electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures in conformance with company specifications and electrical codes.
Install, maintain, and repair power supply to all facility areas, managing time according to production priority.
Diagnose and repair electronic equipment and PLC‑based machines.
Diagnose, read, and update PLC logic to enhance equipment operation.
Upgrade/retrofit existing equipment with newer electronic technology.
Design or modify PLC logic circuits.
Install electrical distribution equipment.
Read, draw, and interpret specifications, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
Analyze, diagnose, test, and repair or replace malfunctioning equipment, machinery, and apparatus.
Repair and/or recondition electric motors and replace faulty electrical components.
Bend and install conduit for two‑ and three‑wire control systems per code.
Connect power supply wires and cable between machines and equipment.
Diagnose and repair or replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
Maintain activity records per company specifications and electrical codes.
Perform duties independently during shift.
Lead electrical apprentices and journeyman electricians as required.
Maintain a safe and sanitary work area.
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Successful completion of the State of Oregon Journeyman Electrician Training program (or equivalent) and maintenance of Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electrician’s card.
Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in a similar position.
Skills
Ability to read and interpret technical documents in English.
Strong written communication in English.
Basic mathematics (fractions, percentages, ratios).
Reasoning ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems.
Applicant must hold a Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electricians License.
Certifications and Training
Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electricians License.
Oregon Potato Co. Hi‑Lift training.
Lockout/Tagout training.
First Aid training recommended.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Requires standing, walking, using hands to manipulate tools, reaching, climbing, and occasionally lifting up to 55 lbs without assistance. Work near moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, electrical shock risk, high noise levels, and variable temperature conditions.
