Position Overview
At Shaw Industries, a global leader in innovative flooring and surface solutions, we’re seeking a highly skilled
Automation Electrician
to join our second shift team at our Port Wentworth Regional Distribution Center—a cutting-edge facility powered by advanced robotics, AI, and machine learning. In this critical role, you’ll be the go-to expert for troubleshooting and maintaining our automated systems, including palletizing robots, conveyors, and wrap lines. You’ll apply your deep knowledge of PLCs (preferably Allen-Bradley but training can be provided), electrical systems, and industrial automation to ensure operational excellence, mentor junior technicians, and help drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, technology-forward environment. This position works 5 days per week; 2nd shift from 3-11 pm, Monday to Friday; relocation to Savannah, GA offered. Position Expectations: Execute assigned tasks with focus on:

Responsibilities: Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment, including electrical systems such as MCCs, inverters, motors, control systems like PLCs, robotics, and automation equipment Perform advanced troubleshooting and lead repairs to address safety, quality, downtime, and productivity issues, differentiating causes across product, process, mechanical, and electrical factors, communicating findings, and updating schematics accordingly Develop and execute proactive maintenance plans, including preventive and condition-based maintenance, with detailed job planning and schematic updates Support work orders and projects, including design, setup, and programming of complex PLC and operational equipment involved in manufacturing Mentor Reliability Electrician II-IV, assisting in skill development, project oversight, and work management Qualifications: Experience with automated industrial equipment, robotics, AI/ML vision and camera systems, and autonomous guided vehicles (AGV); troubleshooting PLCs and controls with sequencing issues Knowledge of safety practices—LOTO, Confined Space, PPE, Hot Work, PIT, Fall Protection, Hoisting & Rigging Proficiency with work order documentation, parts requisitioning, measurement tools, and data analysis Ability to read and update mechanical and electrical schematics Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and advanced troubleshooting of electrical components Ability to create advanced PLC systems and programs for process control Competencies: Work Standards Solve Problems Build Customer Satisfaction Collaborate #LI-TF1 #ShawIND Work Shift 8-hour non-rotating shift, hours fall to in punch day, observed calendar, shift starts PM.
