We are seeking a
Commercial Building Inspector
for Peach County, Georgia. We are open to full-time or part-time availability. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Georgia Business Unit Manager and perform daily inspections on residential and commercial construction projects and other assignments as directed.
Duties & Responsibilities
Performs scheduled assignments between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday – Friday
Completes daily duties responsibly and safely with respect to private and personal property
Readily communicates with staff, citizens, teammates, and builder/contractors as necessary
Maintains detailed records and reports of all inspections and compliance cases
Assists client staff and team members whenever necessary
Updates files, answers phone calls, and schedules inspections as necessary
Maintains ICC certifications and professional credentials. Secures additional ICC certifications, attends training opportunities, and consistently studies codes and standards as related to work requirements
Requirements Note: We will consider any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this job.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. We prefer supplemental training in building inspection, structural engineering, or a related field. An Associate's Degree in engineering, architecture, building inspection, or related field, or equivalent ICC certification level is a plus
Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience as a building construction inspector is required
Must have a valid Georgia driver's license
Certifications:
ICC Commercial Building Inspector (required)
Required Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills
Strong knowledge of building and related municipal codes, building inspection methods and techniques and construction materials
Understanding of erosion and sedimentation control laws and Best Management Practices
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to operate work-related technology (laptop, tablet, iPhone) and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Capable of following directions and asking pertinent clarifying questions
Maintains a professional appearance, attitude, and conduct
Self-disciplined and able to work without direct supervision; works well with people and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Solves problems and has a positive attitude while establishing and maintaining relationships
Compensation & Benefits Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. The starting salary for this role is
$70,000
and is negotiable based on factors like experience, education, licenses, or certifications. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits from their first day of employment. Benefits include:
