We’re seeking a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Acton, MA. In this role, you’ll take a leading part in the design and development of RF base stations, AAUs, and related equipment. This position offers the opportunity to be hands-on throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to testing and release. A competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for outdoor equipment and electronic enclosures.

Lead projects from concept through development, validation, and production release.

Perform CFD, thermal simulation, and FEA analyses to optimize performance and reliability.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with external suppliers and partners.

Integrate FIP gaskets, EMI shielding, RF connectors, cabling, radomes, and metal castings into mechanical designs.

Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drawing creation, and documentation.

Support prototyping efforts including machining, 3D printing, assembly, and testing.

Collect, analyze, and present test data to guide design improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree a plus).

3–10+ years of product design or R&D experience.

Proven experience designing outdoor equipment and electronics packaging.

Proficient with SolidWorks; experience with CFD, thermal analysis, and FEA.

Working knowledge of EMI shielding, RF connectors, and ruggedized packaging.

Experience managing suppliers and external design/manufacturing partners.

Hands‑on skills in machining, 3D printing, and mechanical assembly.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.

Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and meet project deadlines.
