Funky Buddha, located in Oakland Park, Florida, is seeking a full-time Mechanical Technician & Facilities Manager to join its growing team. Established in 2010 at its Boca Raton brewpub, Funky Buddha is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing methods with culinary-inspired recipes utilizing all-natural, food-centric ingredients.
Position Overview
Funky Buddha Brewery is seeking a skilled, hands‑on leader to oversee all mechanical and facility maintenance across our brewery. This hybrid role combines technical expertise in brewery equipment—particularly canning and bottling line systems—with ownership of building and grounds maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance efforts on all production/packaging equipment, including canning line equipment, brewing/cellar equipment, and related systems.
Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to support uninterrupted production and packaging goals.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and vendor interactions.
Support and train production staff in basic troubleshooting and safe operation practices.
Oversee all facility operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and structural maintenance.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for inspections, service contracts, and repairs.
Ensure the facility meets safety, sanitation, and environmental standards.
Plan and execute facility improvement projects, including equipment installations or layout adjustments.
Manage budgets and procurement for maintenance supplies, parts, and capital improvements.
Respond to emergency maintenance and troubleshooting requests (all hours).
Serve as the primary contact for all maintenance and facility-related needs across departments.
Partner with Brewing, Packaging, and Operations teams to support production goals and efficiency.
Foster a culture of safety, reliability, and proactive problem‑solving.
Provide input on equipment purchases, upgrades, and long‑term infrastructure planning.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally in a brewery, beverage, or food manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to maintain and repair canning/bottling line systems and related equipment.
Experience in facilities management or building maintenance required.
Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours or respond to after‑hours emergencies when necessary.
Preferred Skills
Welding, fabrication, or machining experience.
Knowledge of brewery utilities, including glycol, compressed air, and steam systems.
OSHA or other safety certifications.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in hot, cold, or wet conditions.
Standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
