L3Harris Technologies . This position is located in Orlando, FL and follows a 9/80 schedule (9 hours out of every 14 days) with a Friday off each two-week period.
Job Description Aerojet‑Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, seeks a highly motivated, experienced Structures/Machinist Technician. Responsibilities include producing parts, components, and final assemblies using metal fabrication, modification, checkout, re‑work, quality testing, and assembly. Work is performed to detailed instructions, schematics, diagrams, layouts, or manufacturing test development, and may involve diagnostic equipment.
Essential Functions
Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
Operates various machinery and shop equipment.
Fabricates and assembles piece parts into completed sub‑assemblies using a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Performs shop calculations.
Works with management and supervision to meet critical deadlines.
Troubleshoots processes and identifies, modifies, and escalates out‑of‑control processes and production escapes.
Coordinates with maintenance, supervision, and/or engineers to set up and calibrate equipment.
Participates in preventative maintenance activities.
Clears machines, equipment, and work area according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 4 years of prior manufacturing experience, or 2 years post‑secondary/Associate’s Degree with 0‑2 years of related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
Prior aerospace industry experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Specialized knowledge in the assembly of flight hardware.
Good time management and multi‑tasking skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Moderate computer skills.
