Salary Qualifications
5 (five) years of additional applicable work experience and/or degrees higher than minimum qualification degree. Degrees higher than the minimum qualification degree can be used in combination with additional work experience.
A combination of related education, on-the-job work experience, certifications and/or licenses that results in a candidate successfully meeting the minimum qualifications of the position may be considered.

This position is responsible for providing service, tune‑ups, repairs, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance for the College’s fleet vehicles and equipment. The role ensures a safe, clean, and well‑maintained fleet by performing skilled diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures, scheduling and tracking maintenance, and completing necessary repairs. Duties also include preparing vehicles for daily use, arranging outside repairs when needed, and providing support with vehicle titles and licensing, often in coordination with the Weld County Clerk and Recorder. Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as OBD‑II readers and software like ALLDATA OEM (or equivalent) is required to ensure reliable performance across a variety of vehicle manufacturers.
Fleet, Vehicle, & Equipment Maintenance
Service: full line service to all vehicles and equipment, including fluid changes, filter changes, belt inspection, lube of chassis and components.
Tune‑ups: diagnose and implement tune‑up needs, including gasoline and diesel engine diagnostics, ignition, fuel system, and drive train components.
Repair: diagnose and implement repairs, including electrical, cooling systems, engine components, steering, braking, intake and exhaust systems, suspension components, and other moving parts, including safety components.
Preventive maintenance: inspect and implement procedures to ward off major repairs and to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Safety Inspections
Visually inspect, listening for problems, operate the vehicle, schedule inspection intervals, and the teardown/inspection of pertinent components including brakes, lights, horn, suspension, exhaust, windshield wipers, seat belts, drive belts, tires, alignment, heating, air conditioning, mechanical components, spare tire and changing equipment, first aid kit and review emergency information. Inventory: maintain current inventory of parts for service/repairs.
Recordkeeping
Maintain fleet vehicle records.
Registration & Titling Responsibility
Work with Weld County for license and registration and titling of vehicles.
Emissions Compliance
Keep emissions current on all vehicles through the Colorado Air Care Program.
Other Duties As Assigned None additional specified.

High School Diploma/GED; plus two (2) years of automotive industry experience or other related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
Basic level of understanding of vehicle repair and maintenance.
Knowledge to include, but not limited to: diesel and/or gasoline engines, electric motors, automotive, electrical, and mechanical system repairs.
Methods, techniques, and practices of operation, repair, and maintenance of automobiles, equipment, and other program vehicles, including cost estimating.
Materials, supplies, equipment, and practices used in automotive maintenance and repair.
Occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to various vehicle maintenance operations.
Ability to establish and maintain vehicle maintenance programs.
Read automotive wiring schematics.
Ability to use the necessary tools associated with this trade with precision.
Use of a company vehicle for business travel and a successful MVR and insurance status.
Pre‑employment post‑offer physical evaluation required.
