Responsibilities
Inspect Transportation Construction Projects: Verify all work and materials meet project plans, proposals, and specifications
Perform Key Measurements & Calculations: Verify weights, volumes, and measurements to confirm compliance with applicable contract and specification requirements
Prepare "As-Built" Documentation: Plot and run cross sections, and document project progress
Conduct Materials Testing: Verify materials meet applicable contract and specification requirements throughout the project lifecycle
Daily Documentation: Record all inspection activities in detailed reports
Work Outdoors: Enjoy the variety of working in conditions and environments
Physical Responsibilities: Be prepared for heavy lifting and manual tasks as part of the inspection process
Travel Across the State: Opportunity to work on various projects throughout the state
Independent Work: Take ownership of your tasks and work with minimal supervision
Flexible Hours & Travel: Expect extended hours and occasional overnight stays are part of the role
A valid driver's license is required.
Qualifications
A Bachelor\'s Degree in Construction Management or related field
OR An Associate\'s Degree in Construction Management or related field AND two (2) years of relevant experience
OR If no degree, at least four (4) years of relevant experience. SCDOT experience preferred
