Process Engineer II – Bayer Crop Science
Join Bayer as a Process Engineer II in Muscatine, IA. The role is part of the Crop Science Division and focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manufacturing of active ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
Assist plant management and operations personnel daily in evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability.
Coordinate with corporate and site production planners on production timing and raw material availability.
Develop and track key performance indicators.
Participate in investigations of area performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability, and propose and implement sound technical solutions.
Serve as process expert or plant representative for design, construction, and implementation of investment projects interfacing with other technical disciplines.
Maintain and develop standards for area operating documentation (e.g., SOPs, process descriptions, material & energy balances, P&IDs, data collection).
Collaborate on design and execute plant trials to enhance area performance.
Compile, format, and submit environmental data required for timely filing with agencies.
Engage in continued development of self and area personnel through peer coaching.
Support site and area production system improvements, OnePSS.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a science‑based discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Chemical Engineering.
At least 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in plant operation.
Excellent knowledge of chemical processes to analyze, recommend, and make decisions.
Salary & Benefits Employees can expect a salary between $76,954.40 and $115,431.60 per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission as applicable. Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
