Tectonic is currently seeking qualified Construction Inspectors to perform special inspections on upcoming projects throughout the NYC metro area. $20.00/hr - $55.00/hr Tectonic is currently seeking qualified Construction Inspectors to perform special inspections on upcoming projects throughout the NYC metro area.

These positions offer opportunities for professional growth and advancement, as well as industry-specific certifications and on-site training! Essential functions

The essential functions include traveling to various project sites on a daily basis, monitoring construction operations, and using applicable field testing procedures and testing equipment to perform required field and building inspections and testing, as well as all related testing as required by the project and client to determine compliance with project plans and specifications. Preparation of Daily Field Reports and communication of deficiencies observed in the field to project managers, contractors, and/or client representatives. Interpretation of project-related drawings and documents, as well as other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Construction Inspectors must possess a HS Diploma/equivalent and possess/maintain one or more of the certifications or additional education as detailed below (or similar); certifications must be currently valid: ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector AWS Certified Welding Inspector BS Degree in Civil Engineering Ability to successfully complete required OSHA training within a reasonable time period. Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic understanding of the fundamentals of building inspection codes and requirements in order to carry out testing, including International Building Codes, ASTM Standards, and TMS standards. Must be detail oriented. Requires a valid, clean driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel to and transport testing equipment to various project sites primarily throughout the New York City metro area, as regular daily travel is required. Physical requirements

Assume a stationary position, handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job. Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients using Company email and telephone systems. Move around on the job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and position oneself to access necessary testing materials and equipment, usually for prolonged periods. Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections. Good visual skills, including focused depth perception. Regular daily operations of a motor-vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time. Benefits
