A Tool Maker at Belcan will perform diversified and specialized machining operations. Responsibilities include operating conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools, including vertical milling machines, lathes, and other shop equipment, with oversight of machine supervision and setup. You will work with design and manufacturing engineers to develop tooling, layout, build, and repair jigs, fixtures, and production parts.
Responsibilities
Tool and fixture fabrication, production tooling, and other machining activities based on technical drawings.
Layout, build, and repair jigs, fixtures, and production parts.
Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, verniers, comparators) to maintain tolerances.
Interpret work orders, drawings, sketches, and sample parts.
Problem‑solve and apply mechanical knowledge.
Coordinate machining schedules with internal customers.
Repair existing tooling as needed.
Occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
Follow safety standards to keep a clean and orderly work area.
Communicate effectively with team members.
Requirements
GED/HS Diploma or Toolmaker Experience; Technical School Diploma or Formal Machinist Training preferred.
Minimum 7+ years of experience machining various metals and some plastics.
