Mobile Diesel Technician Level II . Responsibilities

Perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. More advanced diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician or higher. Learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques; comply with all company policies and achieve high level performance metrics. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmission, steering, clutch, differential, and related systems. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment and test with appropriate instruments; inspect and road test vehicles to ensure proper operation. Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate/assess alternatives with sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and operate company-issued service truck; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information, resolve issues, and satisfy expectations. Manage concurrent tasks with prioritization and effective time management. Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Document work according to company standards and upload RO documentation and photos using company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application. Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion. Work with a high degree of independence and manage daily schedule; maintain productivity within standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs. Communicate with management and support team to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve PO numbers, and discuss RO findings. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Maintain the company issued service truck and conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. Alternatively, a different combination such as any level degree/certification beyond HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months. Must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT)/FMCSA regulations; successfully complete a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. Current and valid DOT medical card with expiry more than four months away may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical; if four months or less, a DOT physical will be required. Must be at least 21 years of age due to interstate operating authority. Valid driver\'s license; ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File. Certifications

Hourly base pay rate is $26.06 - $39.13/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the range based on location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for additional compensation including commissions or incentives. Note:
