Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is currently hiring a

Mobile Diesel Technician Level II . The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The Diesel Technician II can perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision. A successful Diesel Technician II continues to learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques and complies with all company policies while achieving high performance metrics. Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions, Clutches, Differentials, and related components. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment, including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Engine electronics, Diesel steering, Engines, Transmissions, Clutches, Differentials, and related components. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments (handheld computers, pressure gauges). Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation. Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck with periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work activities and time allocations. Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks as required. Document work according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) using company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other required documentation in a timely fashion. Work independently and manage daily schedule with a high level of productivity, aiming to meet standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs. Communicate with management and support teams to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve PO numbers, and discuss RO findings. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, and DOT). Maintain the company-issued service truck and conduct safety checks and daily pre-/post-trip inspections. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related experience. Alternatively, a different combination such as any level degree/certification beyond HS or 5 years of related experience. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months. Meet DOT/FMCSA requirements, including pre-employment DOT background screening and DOT physical; or provide valid DOT medical card with sufficient validity. Minimum age 21 due to interstate operating authority; valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File. Certifications

ASE T8 (PMI) certification required within 18 months; other preferred ASE certifications include T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, and T8/609 where applicable. Benefits & Compensation
