Civil Engineer (E.I.T.)
with a structural focused background to join our dynamic investigative team in
Austin, Texas . This role is hybrid and based in the greater city of Austin, Texas. It offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse forensic engineering projects involving construction defect analysis and structural reconstruction across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of various structure types including residential, commercial, industrial buildings, bridges, and parking garages. Must be comfortable on ladders, scaffolding, lifts, as well as in crawlspaces.
Prepare detailed inspection and design reports for clients, including potential legal litigation use.
Perform failure analysis and design repairs, restorations, or retrofits to ensure structural safety and functionality.
Ensure compliance with building codes and stay current with industry standards, emerging trends and knowledge of wind and seismic loads.
Develop scopes of work and budgets for project proposals.
Collaborate with Senior Engineering Experts to prepare exhibits, documents, and reports for depositions and trials.
Willingness to learn new skills, technologies, adapt, evolve, and expand professional and engineering expertise.
Self-motivated professional who exhibits strong interpersonal skills capable of fostering a growing clientele in a rapidly growing and dynamic market.
Qualifications
Minimum
2 years of experience
in structural engineering design, preferably in forensic or investigative contexts.
E.I.T. certification
required.
Experience with construction management, project management, or structural design preferred.
Must be a
resident of the Austin, Texas area
(local candidates only).
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
Proficiency with Autodesk computer aided design software, Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis on MS Teams and SharePoint.
Ability to work remotely and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Clean driving record with a valid U.S. Driver's License, and reliable personal vehicle for transportation. Regular regional travel is required.
Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills are essential to this role.
Salary : $80,000–$95,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Schedule : Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
Work Setting : Hybrid—up to 60% remote/home office, 40% field inspections/site visits.
Home office must be local to Austin, Texas
