Bridge Inspection Team Leader
to play a key role in the expansion of the Michigan team. This position requires the ability to manage projects, consult with clients and government agencies, and direct teams. The role offers a mix of office and field work with some statewide and local travel and provides opportunities for growth within our Michigan operations. Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise above‑water and underwater bridge and ancillary structure evaluation and hands‑on inspection. Be familiar and competent with the use of MI Bridge program for MDOT. Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on field and/or design issues or adaptations. Prepare and monitor project budgets and assist in proposal preparation. Accountable for project schedules and timely completion of projects. Responsible for standard and intermediate challenging engineering projects in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications. Perform simple and complex engineering computations and estimates related to inspection projects and rehabilitation plans. Prepare complete engineering plans or reports meeting MDOT Design guidelines. Direct and supervise the work of entry‑level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff. Coach field staff on the purpose and processes of inspections and inspection techniques. Make independent decisions within a general framework. Use computer‑assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Demonstrated bridge design experience is a plus. Relocation is available.
