This is an immediate opening. The role supports troubleshooting, repair, calibration, modification, programming, and installation of plant instrumentation and electronic equipment to support Goodyear’s manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

The Electronics Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, repairing, calibrating, modifying, programming, and installing plant instrumentation or electronic equipment.

Repair, use, configure, and/or program the various Plant Process Control systems and equipment including:

Temperature: Thermocouple RTD, Thermistor, and Infrared

Pressure: I/P (V/P) transducers, P/I (P/V) transducers, switches

Weight Control Systems: Load cells

Speed control: AC drives, DC drives, Servo Drives

Machine Control PLCs, PCs, robotic controllers, axis positioning, proprietary systems, PID loop controllers, modulating controls, CRT/LED operator interface units, SCADA systems

Position LVDTs, Encoders - Annunciators, LED Displays, and operator interface units

Proprietary analog and digital circuit boards, ultrasonic sensors, X-ray units, barcode scanners/readers, vision systems, radiation precure units

The position would require communication of work activity and status on a regular basis with the Staff Engineer including establishing a systematic calibration schedule for all plant instruments.

Punctuality and attendance are essential to the success of operations and contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere. Basic computer skills preferred.

Shift Information 12-hour shift. New hires are likely to be placed on the night shift. 2-2-3 continuous work schedule (a three-day weekend every other week).

Work Environment

Texarkana, AR Plant in a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment; may be required to work in various areas of the factory.

Environmental conditions can be hot, cold, and noisy.

Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures and guidelines must be adhered to. This includes PPE such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing, and steel-toed shoes.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma, GED or the Workforce Center's Career Readiness Certification (CRC) with a minimum of Silver Certificate level

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Required to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations

5 years of electronics experience or successful completion of an accredited apprenticeship program in this specific craft

Must complete aptitude test and hands-on assessment administered by an outside party

Compensation

Base pay: $40.05 per hour for Electronic Technicians enrolled in the Multicraft program. Singlecraft Electronic Technicians starting pay is $33.55. Electronic Technicians can enter the Multicraft program in July/January after qualification to begin receiving Multicraft pay.

Sign-on bonus totaling $10,000 paid out within 3 years (including $4,000 within 30 days).
