Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinate, design, develop, and provide technical direction for project scopes Work independently and with teams on roadway design analysis and studies Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for transportation projects Design stormwater management systems and ponds Provide fieldwork assistance to verify existing site conditions Extract data from drafting tools (MicroStation, GEOPAK Drainage, etc.) Handle all aspects of roadway drainage design including conveyance systems, stormwater management, erosion control, and outfall analysis Plan and design hydrologic and hydraulic improvements for roadway and drainage projects, including BMPs, watersheds, and related hydraulic analyses Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong working knowledge of MicroStation Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Soil erosion and sedimentation control design experience NCDOT Level III Certification a plus Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK Drainage, and HEC-RAS Ability to meet client deadlines with urgency and initiative Detail-oriented, team-focused, with strong communication skills Working knowledge of NCDOT Guidelines for Drainage Studies and Hydraulic Design; FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual Experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer and SUDA is a plus Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline PE preferred Minimum of 5+ years’ transportation hydraulic design experience, preferably with NCDOT projects Experience or willingness to manage projects is a plus Apply & Equal Opportunity
