Sheet Metal & Coatings Production Supervisor
A well‑established, fast‑paced manufacturing business is looking to hire a
Sheet Metal & Coatings Production Supervisor
immediately! The organization has grown over 30 years, and this role will work closely with Operations Manager, GM and other departments to improve execution, increase output, and streamline processes.
Base pay range $28.00/hr - $40.00/hr
Responsibilities
Collaborate with other team leaders on projects.
Understand workflow and coordinate daily activities of sheet metal fabrication, painting and coating teams to ensure production goals are met.
Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and ensure materials, tools and equipment are available and maintained in optimal condition.
Train with Sr. Production Manager to develop understanding of company specific processes and best practices.
Estimate, quote and forecast for assigned customer projects and new business.
Ensure production schedule and quality standards are met.
Identify process problems, troubleshoot causes and develop solutions with management.
Use Lean Manufacturing tools and methods; discover and utilize new technologies as appropriate.
Support team with specifications and drawings, applying good manufacturing practices.
Prepare concise reports of performance documentation, reviews and inspection results.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and ensure products meet specifications and coating standards.
Track productivity, scrap, rework metrics; identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
Ensure adherence to ISO, OSHA and environmental standards related to metal fabrication and coating operations.
Qualifications
General production leadership experience in manufacturing/fabrication industries, with specific experience in sheet metal fabrication and/or powder coating operations.
Knowledge of fabrication, mechanical and related-process assembly.
Understanding of manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in computer skills – Excel, Word and manufacturing software.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, methods and practices.
Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
Knowledge of OSHA safety workplace requirements.
Knowledge of ISO quality management system.
Self–motivated and able to operate independently.
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Manufacturing, Welding or Industrial Technology preferred.
