Overview
AES is seeking a full-time
Engineer or Senior Engineer
to join the T&D Standards team, responsible for creating and updating engineering, design, construction and equipment standards for AES Indiana and AES Ohio. Key Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical assistance to stakeholders (engineering, operations, supply chain and construction teams) as needed. Troubleshoot equipment failures, safety incidents and provide solutions through updated standards or creation of new standards. Work closely with stakeholders to align current work practices in AES Ohio and AES Indiana and improve existing standards. Develop, review, and update construction standard drawings by working closely with a drafting team. Work closely with the supply chain team and manufacturers to identify alternatives to approved equipment and to develop improved specifications for new equipment to support the distribution/substation/transmission system of the future. Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor of Science in engineering, electrical engineering (power) major preferred, from an ABET-accredited engineering program. A Master of Science in Engineering is a plus. Minimum three (3) years of practical employment experience in electric utility or industrial power system design, engineering, and/or construction in any of the disciplines—substation, transmission, or distribution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to research and accurately interpret and apply national standards, including those maintained by the IEEE, ANSI, etc. Proficiency in electrical design and/or analysis software. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
