Mobile Diesel Technician Level II . The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, and diagnostics (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic) under supervision. The Technician II will advance their diagnostic and repair skills and work with high performance standards under guidance from a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician or higher. Duties
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT Inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc. Diagnose and repair truck equipment in the listed areas and test components as needed. Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments (handheld computers, pressure gauges). Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation. Identify problems, assess information, and use judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives. Independently manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck supplies; perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the service vehicle; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients to assess needs and provide information, resolve problems, and meet expectations. Manage concurrent tasks with effective prioritization and time management. Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work according to company standards and upload RO details, parts used, and findings using company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application. Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner. Work independently with a flexible daily schedule and maintain productivity within standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed for repairs. Coordinate with management and support teams for approvals, PO numbers, and RO findings. Work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Maintain the service truck and perform safety checks and daily pre-/post-trip inspections. Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or 5 years of related experience. Possess and bring a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; DOT regulations apply. Current and valid DOT medical card with expiration more than four months away may substitute for a DOT physical; if four months or less remain, a DOT physical is required. Must be at least 21 years of age due to interstate operating authority. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File. Required Certifications or Within 18 Months

Stamina to perform repetitive tasks and exert physical effort as needed. Clear, organized communication and effective two-way interaction with individuals and groups. Identify tools and equipment required for tasks. Spatial awareness to judge distances and positions of objects accurately. Use logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions and alternatives.
