The Role Xylem seeks to hire a Mechanical Engineer to perform research, design, and development in such areas as mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Define planning and methodologies to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
Responsibilities
Designing heat exchangers to meet customer requirements, including ASME code and other governing body specifications.
Perform ASME calculations for heat exchanger design.
Support manufacturing by resolving engineering related issues.
Work with drafting to develop drawings & bills of materials.
Test lab work including thermal testing of heat exchangers, pressure testing, and more.
Participate in improvement activities.
Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
Participation in cost savings projects.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering with strong fluids background.
CAD background.
Proficient in PTC CREO.
Proficient in MS Office Applications.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Preferred Qualifications
ASME code knowledge (Section VIII, Section III, Section V, and Section IX).
Ability to work in a team.
Project Management Experience.
Physical Demands
Work is generally conducted in an office environment.
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to communicate orally.
Ability to use hands and fingers dexterously to operate office equipment.
Work Environment
Office/Mfg. Plant: 50/50.
Minimal travel required.
