Our client is currently seeking a qualified Field Service Technician to join their team in Tampa, FL and provide end-user support. This is a 4 to 6 month contract role with the possibility of converting to a full-time position based on performance. The successful candidate will provide onsite technical support to multiple store locations and assist with hardware/software installations, troubleshooting, and lifecycle servicing. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record will be required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide onsite desktop, laptop, printer, POS and peripheral hardware installation, maintenance, imaging and repair
Troubleshoot software issues including Windows, Office 365 and store-specific applications
Manage ticketing system updates: log, track, elevate and close support tickets
Perform adds, moves, and changes (AMCs) for user workstations and peripherals
Maintain accurate inventory tracking and control of equipment and parts
Assist with basic network tasks (cabling, connectivity checks) and Smart Hands support in store locations
Deliver technician support across shifts and coordinate with store staff and remote support teams to ensure operational consistency
Minimum Education Required High School/GED
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 1 to 3+ years of IT support, field service or desktop technician experience
Familiarity with Windows OS, Office 365, PC hardware installation / troubleshooting and ticketing systems
Strong customer service, communication and time-management skills
Ability to lift and move desktop equipment (typical 40 lbs.)
Experience with retail environments, POS systems or store-based IT support preferred
CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent preferred
Ability to work off-hours or weekends if required during project periods
Wage Range The rate for this position is between $17.00 - $20.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
