About the Role:
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial manufacturing machinery and facility systems, ensuring safety and quality standards, and modifying equipment as needed based on blueprints, manufacturer data, or assembly instructions. Main Responsibilities:
Maintain, repair, lubricate, and troubleshoot all manufacturing equipment (gearboxes, variable speed drives, pumps, compressors, grinding equipment, conveying systems, dust collectors, code daters, check weighers, palletizing systems, robotic systems) at the Bloomington plant. Repair and operate material handling equipment including manual and battery-powered pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and hoists. Read and interpret blueprints, process and instrumentation diagrams, flow diagrams, and machinery manuals to diagnose issues and verify proper operation. Plan, layout, measure, and execute maintenance tasks. Use power and hand tools safely and effectively. Complete and report scheduled preventive maintenance and work orders in SAP CMMS within designated timeframes, following standards to ensure equipment reliability. Install, assemble, and disassemble equipment as necessary. Clean tools, parts, and equipment after maintenance activities. Provide technical support and training to production teams, fostering continuous learning. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality, and food safety standards. Adhere to safety and environmental policies, maintaining compliance with regulations and safety systems. Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED. At least 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or 2-year technical degree in related fields with 1 year of experience. Experience with troubleshooting, repairing, replacing parts, and modifying machinery. Ability to work overtime as needed. Proficiency with computers for system navigation and record-keeping. Basic math skills for maintenance and calibration tasks. Knowledge of pipefitting, rigging, steam systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial electricity, automation, and PLC controls. Strong communication and critical thinking skills. Compensation:
