Pascua Yaqui Tribe
Under general direction, manages the Inspections Unit of Facilities Management to ensure compliance with building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and zoning codes; ensures safety of the public.
Responsibilities
Supervise assigned staff, including but not limited to training, conducting employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Manage and supervise the day-to-day operation of the Inspections Unit, including but not limited to program development, budget management, and staff supervision. Develop and maintain policies and procedures relevant to program content and implementation. Identify violations and defects in building construction materials, methods, and stages of construction. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local building laws, codes, and regulations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and hazard requirements. Develop and implement program objectives. Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of inspectors. Oversee building inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and public safety. Advise inspectors, contractors, and departments on solutions to complex code compliance problems. Respond to inquiries from employees, contractors, and the public regarding inspection problems and code requirements. Approve alternate methods or materials for code compliance with the concurrence of the Director of Facilities Management. Review and interpret codes and ordinances to recommend changes, additions, and procedure implementation. Conduct meetings to ensure inspection coordination or to resolve problems related to inspections and code interpretation. Continuously strive to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes to improve customer service. Supervise and maintain records of all inspections performed. Facilitate staff meetings regularly to maintain consistent enforcement of procedures and policy updates. Ensure inspection staff keeps abreast of new code changes, materials, and methods of construction by arranging attendance at seminars and training events; ensure all inspectors maintain ICC/CBO certifications. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director. Requirements
High School Diploma or GED plus five (5) years of increasingly responsible inspections experience; including two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. Must possess and maintain two (2) ICC/ICBO Certifications or one combination certification. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License. Special Requirements
This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends. Must have a current Level I Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level I Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level I Clearance Card will result in termination from this position. About the Company
