This position is with Fleet Services by Cox Automotive, currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmission, steering, and related components. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment and systems; inspect and test to diagnose malfunctions. Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation. Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck; reconcile as needed. Maintain and operate the company-issued service truck; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients to assess needs and provide information, assistance, and solutions. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work and time allocations. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Document work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application. Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion. Work with a high degree of independence and manage daily schedule; maintain productivity within standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary for repairs. Coordinate with management and support teams for approvals, PO numbers, and RO findings notes. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience; or a combination including higher-level education or 5 years of related experience. Possess and provide a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; DOT medical card acceptable in lieu of a DOT physical if valid for more than four months. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority. Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File. Safe driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle as required. Certifications

ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months. Preferred: ASE T3 (Drivetrain), T4 (Brakes), T5 (Suspension), T6 (Electrical/Electronic Systems), T7 (HVAC), T8/609 as applicable. Skills & Abilities

Effective communication; able to convey information clearly and listen to customers. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and perform moderately heavy labor; capable of long periods of standing and repetitive tasks. Problem-solving using logic and reasoning; ability to determine appropriate tools and equipment. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Compensation & Benefits

Hourly base pay range:

$26.06 - $39.13

per hour. Compensation may vary by location and candidate qualifications. Eligible for additional compensation such as commissions or incentive programs.
