Maintenance Mechanic - Night Shift

Superior Essex . Position overview: The Maintenance Mechanic performs tasks such as troubleshooting, repair, and installation of production and support equipment. This role handles general repair work and maintenance on mechanical components, machinery, motors, and associated hardware, assisting with the assembly and installation of new equipment for electrical and mechanical areas. It also performs routine preventive maintenance and servicing tasks such as cleaning, adjusting, and inspections on mechanical equipment and assists with production and support equipment design, fabrication, installation, and training.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and repairs existing equipment along with completing preventive maintenance. Some additional welding, plumbing, carpentry, and minor electrical work may be necessary.
Design, fabricate, assemble and install parts, fixtures or entire assemblies as requested by Engineering or Department Managers.
Initiates necessary parts request forms for unstocked parts so repairs can be completed. This requires researching equipment files, blueprints, and machine history to determine part numbers or identification of required parts.
Prepares and maintains documentation of drawings, layouts, time sheets, work orders and cost reduction or safety proposals.
Qualifications Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent and two or more years of technical training within the field, or equivalent education & experience.
Minimum Experience Required
One (1) year previous work experience as a mechanic in an industrial or similar environment.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
Ability to accurately diagnose, troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment for both production and support of the plant.
Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations; understand verbal or written instructions and provide information to others.
Ability to work continuous shift if requested, and work scheduled and unscheduled overtime with good attendance.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to use hand and power tools and operate electronic troubleshooting equipment while following safety and health rules and maintaining housekeeping.
Must be able to distinguish colors correctly and read electrical schematics.
