Seasonal EIT Field Service Engineer – Siemens Energy
Join a global energy technology company as a Seasonal EIT Field Service Engineer. This role is entry‑level, designed to grow into a full‑time FSE career. Travel is required for extended periods, typically 2–15 weeks at a time. A Snapshot of Your Day
The Field Service (FSE) organization powers the largest electrical generation plants in the United States, maintaining and upgrading gas turbines, steam turbines and generators. Your first 12 months will include classroom and lab training in Orlando, followed by on‑the‑job training at multiple customer sites across the U.S. How You’ll Make an Impact
Complete classroom and lab training in Orlando, then participate in on‑the‑job training with experienced engineers at multiple customer sites across the U.S. Develop skills in equipment operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership, and Siemens Energy’s business systems. After training, supervise technicians and mechanics working on steam turbine generator equipment during planned and unplanned system outages. Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble turbines and generators. Coordinate mechanical and electrical upgrades on steam turbine generators to increase power output and efficiency. Collaborate with worldwide engineering staff to perform niche mechanical and electrical testing and serve as the primary customer contact during outages, ensuring repairs are made in a timely and accurate manner. What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent required. 5+ years of proven technical leadership experience in power plant or facilities maintenance and operations preferred, open to new graduates with internship experience. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Resolve mechanical problems while working closely on a team and with customers to provide outstanding service. Self‑starting leader who enjoys using all available resources to lead others in building innovative solutions to challenging mechanical issues. Ready to travel extensively. Typical deployment is up to 250 days per year, with 2–15 week deployments. Work hours are up to 12–14 hours per day, 6–7 days per week, with a typical week of 60–84 hours. Able to ascend/descend ladders, examine equipment in confined spaces, move boxes up to 40 pounds, work in outdoor weather conditions, walk long distances, and share cramped trailers with other employees.
