Position Overview
Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consulting firm that provides engineering, system planning, and technical consultation services to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials across the U.S. ECI is seeking a Civil Engineer to focus on structural engineering and site design for substations and power delivery facilities.
Responsibilities
Develop design criteria, structure design, foundation design, building design, and related works for standard shape steel and tubular steel structures, fire walls, and related facilities.
Design foundations using drilled pier, shallow/pad, and spread footing foundations.
Develop grading, drainage, and access road designs (paved and unpaved) with vehicle maneuvering and haul road analysis.
Specify and design retaining walls, perimeter walls, fences, gates, and stormwater infrastructure; interpret hydrology studies.
Perform site civil engineering tasks using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
May perform project management functions including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, team leadership, project monitoring, client interface, and reporting based on experience and interest.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organization, planning, and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, Risa, LPILE, MFAD, CAISSON, and Visual Analysis.
AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is preferred.
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and design tools.
PE license is preferred but not required.
Ability to undergo client‑mandated drug and background checks.
Occasional travel and driving required; must meet ECI auto insurance carrier requirements.
Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
