Wood is recruiting for a mid-level Automation Technical Professional with a strong background in Emerson DeltaV systems to be based at our client in Billings, MT. Responsibilities
Participate in designing and implementing automation systems for oil & gas and process industry projects, engaging in all project phases from front-end engineering to commissioning. Support site surveys, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), and commissioning activities, while reviewing project schedules and cost estimates. Assist procurement with vendor lists, requisitions, and technical evaluations, and travel to client locations for project implementation (approximately 25%). Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Electrical, Computers/Systems, or Mechatronics. 10–15 years of automation experience. Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV and DeltaV SIS is required. Experience with PLC platforms (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Triconex, etc.) is a plus. Strong knowledge of DCS hardware, networks, HMI/SCADA, databases, and industrial protocols; proven ability to design and implement control systems. Proficient communication skills; able to interact effectively with coworkers, clients, and vendors. Must be authorized to work legally in the US without sponsorship from Wood, now or in the future. On-site activities will include program updates and troubleshooting; additional travel may be required. About Us
