BRIDGE MAINTAINER I - III, STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE – DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, BUREAU OF BRIDGE MAINTENANCE. Full-time vacancies located at 10 Ranger Way/Portsmouth, NH. Positions may be filled at level I, II, or III depending on qualifications and experience. Base pay range
$15.93/hr - $26.41/hr Compensation notes
This range is provided by the State of New Hampshire. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience; speak with your recruiter to learn more. A Trainee Status option exists at a reduced rate during initial employment as specified in the announcement. Responsibilities
Bridge Maintainer I: perform semi-skilled bridge construction work, assist with maintenance, repairs, and construction related to bridge maintenance activities. Support work zone safety, temporary bridge installation, scaffolding, and PPE use. Work in hazardous environments and in proximity to traffic. Operate basic heavy tools and assist with lifting and material handling. Bridge Maintainer II: perform semi-skilled and skilled bridge construction tasks, supervise or assist Bridge Maintainer I and Laborers, operate and maintain heavier equipment, and participate in training others. Maintain safety and environmental standards and work in demanding conditions. Bridge Maintainer III: perform advanced masonry, specialized carpentry, welding, structural steel work, supervision duties, and assist the Bridge Construction Supervisor in training others. Respond to inquiries from state employees and the public. Maintain safety, health, and environmental compliance. Qualifications
BM I – Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license; MVR must meet minimum standards. Trainee option: Not applicable. Preferred: None. BM II – Minimum Qualifications:
Equivalent combination of 1 year education and experience after high school; valid driver’s license; MVR standards; pre-employment drug screen per US DOT. BM III – Minimum Qualifications:
Equivalent combination of 3 years education and experience after high school, with at least 1 year as a Bridge Maintainer II or equivalent; valid CDL (CDL-A or CDL-B) with tank and air brake endorsements; MVR standards; pre-employment drug screen; ability to operate heavy equipment; relevant experience in carpentry, concrete construction, welding, or related fields as specified.
