Job Overview The Rad Tech II is responsible for operating radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic and other clinical exams as directed, and serves as a coach to student technologists. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsibilities
Performs radiologic and other requested examinations on assigned patients, determining technical and positioning factors, and positioning the patient for the exam.
Explains procedures to patients and addresses any questions or concerns.
Collects specimens for drug screens, performs Blood Alcohol Tests, and CLIA-waived tests.
Performs patient intake activities, including checking and recording vital signs.
Provides ongoing patient assessment through observation and records; reports findings accurately and timely.
Assists in the development of others through guidance and teaching, promoting professional practice.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, policies, and procedures.
Manages resources such as supplies and equipment efficiently.
Demonstrates professional behavior and excellent customer service in all interactions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology
Experience:
1-3 years Rad Tech experience
Skills:
Knowledge of radiography procedures, effective communication, clinical competencies in radiography
Licenses & Certifications:
BLS (American Heart Association), Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Medical Radiation Technologist (Mississippi), Radiologic Technologist (Arkansas)
Additional Details
Supervision: No direct supervisory responsibilities, but may coach or guide less experienced Rad Techs.
Physical Demands: Medium work, exerting up to 50 lbs occasionally, with activities including standing, walking, reaching, and patient contact.
