Job Title: Production Lead – Location: Nampa

D Shift: Thursday – Sunday & E/O Wednesday, 7 pm – 7 am. This shift includes a $4 night‑shift premium.

Job Summary As Production Lead for Materne, North America you will support the Production Supervisor in leading the day‑to‑day work activities of the team on your designated shift.

Job Duties

Lead the production team during a 12‑hour shift, maintaining a consistent, visible presence in the workshop.

Mentor and motivate team members to follow safe work practices, comply with GMPs and production standards while striving to meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and environmental objectives.

Assist the Supervisor in ensuring the integrity of finished product quality.

Make independent decisions related to operations and product conformance/non‑conformance in the Supervisor’s absence as necessary.

Assist with troubleshooting, resolution of day‑to‑day challenges, and operator needs, escalating to the Supervisor or maintenance when appropriate.

Relate information between the Supervisor, work team, support departments, and other lines to ensure effective communication.

Coordinate scheduled work activities, including start‑up, shut‑down, mid‑week CIP, VIF reconciliation, and any other activities directed by the Supervisor.

Monitor KPP boards, VPA boards, and production flow using data indicators and operator feedback to recommend safety, quality, and process improvements.

Investigate and ensure accurate reporting of non‑compliant materials or supplies.

Ensure accuracy of production paperwork and facilitate timely submission to the Quality Department.

Observe and monitor training activities of team members, providing detailed feedback to the Supervisor.

Maintain 5″S adherence and support continuous improvement initiatives; implement new processes and standardize best practices between shifts and production lines.

Assist the Supervisor with people, process, and equipment root‑cause analysis and drive problem‑solving initiatives as needed.

Check the employee hotline, work with the Supervisor and other leads to ensure adequate coverage for unplanned absences and tardies, and provide coverage as needed.

Assist with employee breaks, ensuring coverage by other operators or by yourself as necessary.

Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable regulations, reporting violations promptly to the Supervisor or Human Resources.

Support the Supervisor with performance evaluations by recommending ratings, improvement opportunities, and recognition for strong performance.

Arrive before shift and stay after shift as necessary to ensure proper communication and coordination between shifts.

Perform and complete sensory testing on the lines to ensure product quality.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience as a trainer, lead, or Supervisor in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Previous food manufacturing experience highly desired.

Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal, reading, writing).

Skills & Qualifications

Must successfully pass a training course for acidified food production during onboarding.

Demonstrated ability to perform intermediate math calculations.

Ability to synthesize data and information to make decisions.

Proficiency with basic computer functions and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems.

Demonstrated ability to diffuse tense situations and manage multiple priorities professionally.

Comfort enforcing policies and performance standards.

Clear communication in front of a group and ability to give directions.

Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

At least Level 2 qualification in one of the primary production operator positions (Tetrapak, Volpak, or Ixapack/Palletizer).

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Must work 12 hours per day and remain on one’s feet for extended periods.
