Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks across one or more skilled trades including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and general repair. This role ensures all assigned areas remain functional, safe, and clean by following established safety guidelines and procedures. The technician supports the organization’s operations through proactive inspection, repair, and upkeep of facilities.

Your Typical Day

Inspect buildings and facilities to identify maintenance needs and complete necessary repairs

Perform minor electrical work, including replacing outlets, fixtures, bulbs, and cords

Conduct plumbing repairs such as unclogging drains and fixing leaks

Complete minor painting, carpentry, and masonry tasks

Handle exterior building upkeep like pressure washing and debris cleanup

Order parts and tools within approved expense limits

Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and work orders

Travel to different store locations to perform diagnostics and repairs

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace

Support team needs by completing related assignments as needed

What You’ll Need

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

1–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance (including drywall, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry)

Working knowledge of hand and power tools

Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently

Basic math and reading skills

Physical ability to lift 75–100 pounds and perform frequent physical activity including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and kneeling

Ability to work in varying conditions (dusty environments, extreme temperatures, indoor/outdoor spaces)

Valid Georgia driver’s license and insurability under company policy

Ability to travel daily and work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as needed
