Description Under direct supervision, the Production Planner is responsible for production order management and daily execution on the shop floor. This job is the first level in the Manufacturing Scheduling job family. At this level, the Production Planner has limited autonomy to deviate from established processes, but is expected to develop their understanding of the principles necessary to exercise such judgement at the upper levels of the Manufacturing Scheduling job family. The Production Planner receives training to be able to plan and schedule routine orders for their assigned product lines and to resolve related problems affecting delivery for short-term (30 days) planning horizons. Performs release of production orders within acceptable guidelines, uses dispatch report to coordinate schedule execution, and performs inventory management functions to optimize material flow. The Production Planner will have a basic understanding and knowledge of: Forecasting, FP, MRP, Excel, Theory of Constraints, Master Data, Engineering Change Management, and Inventory Turns.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience is preferred. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of two years working in manufacturing, procurement, or customer service.

Responsibilities

Plan and schedule routine orders for assigned product lines.

Execute daily shop floor operations and coordinate schedule execution.

Release production orders within acceptable guidelines.

Use dispatch report to manage production execution.

Perform inventory management functions to optimize material flow.

Resolve problems affecting delivery for short-term planning horizons.

Apply knowledge of Forecasting, FP, MRP, Excel, Theory of Constraints, Master Data, Engineering Change Management, and Inventory Turns.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, or customer service.

Basic familiarity with SAP, planning, and Excel.

Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) preferred.
